About Me & My Family
I grew up as an Army brat, which exposed me to a wide variety of food from all across the United States, from Cajun classics like gumbo, midwestern oddballs like Cincinnati-style chili, and traditional Hawaiian luau pork buried all day under our neighbor's yard. I learned the value of farm fresh produce from my grandparents on their wheat and dairy farm in eastern Colorado. To this day I've never had a dill pickle as good as my grandmother's, which I'm convinced was some sort of alchemy stemming from the herbs in the garden to the particular minerals in the well water. As a mother, I exposed my children to as many types of food as I could, picking up new things here and there, and teaching them to fend for themselves in the kitchen as they got older. Now, I enjoy cooking meals with my husband for our friends, and letting my children do the cooking for me when they come home to visit. We made this site to keep all these varied and delicious recipes alive, and to be able to easily share them amongst ourselves and anyone else. Thanks for visiting, we hope you enjoy the food.
